Something you should look for in an email program is the ability to check email for multiple POP accounts. That way if you have an email like mrjoe@earthlink.net and you have joe@mrjoedomain.com, then you can check each of them without having to go in and retype all your configurations.

Email Programs for Mac

Apple Mail: If you own a Mac this is the standard email client. It's a great program with a ton of configuration options. If you've got a Mac, this is the only thing you'll need in our opinion.
Eudora: This is decent little mail app if you don't like to use the Apple Mail for some reason, thought it seems to have a few small limitations with managing multiple accounts.
Entourage: If you absolutely must use a Microsoft product, or you are really stuck on using Outlook but now own a stylish new Mac this may be the way to go.

Email Programs for PC

Microsoft Outlook: If you own a newer PC this may already be on your machine. It's a good little email client. If you've already got it give it a shot.
Outlook Express: You may already have this on your computer. This program allows you to have multiple email accounts. Even though it's a Microsoft product we still like it.
Eudora: This is a versatile email program with advanced features. It used to be our favorite but they seemed to be slow with updates for Mac OS X, so we've been using Outlook.
Mutt: This is a command line based email program. Their slogan ... "All mail clients suck, this one just sucks less." With an attitude like that we have to tell you about it.

Online Email through Dogbark

Dogbark Webmail: • If you are going to be away from your main computer for a while, using webmail will work just fine. We don not recommend using this in place of one of the email clients listed above, but this will work in any browser regardless of what computer you are using. Check out the howto for webmail if you have questions about how to get your account set up.
