Outook Express is a standard email client for our friendly Windows users. Check out the following instructions on how to set it up with ease...

  1. First, go ahead and open your outlook express program. Click on "Tools" and then click on "Accounts" as shown below.

  2. Next, make sure that "Mail" is highlighted in the top tool bar of that window. Then click on the "Add" button, and select "Mail" as shown below...

    Express1
  3. Next it will ask for a "display name." This is so you can identify this account in your outlook express program. We usually would use something like "me@mydomain.com" then click "Next" as shown:

    Express2
  4. Next it will ask for your "email address." This is simply the address that you have specified when you signed up for your dogbark hosting. It will be "something@yourdomain.com" When you are done click "Next" as shown below...

    Express3
  5. Next you come the most exciting page of the new account set up. This page has three parts so follow along accordingly.
    • First you will see "my incoming mail server is" and that will always be a "POP3"
    • Secondly, you will see "incoming mail server." This will be "mail.your_domain_name.com"
    • Finally, you will see "outgoing mail (SMTP) server." This will always be smtp01.dogbark.com

      Express4
  6. Next, you get to the "Internet Mail Logon" page. This will ask for the following:
    • Account Name- this is the POP account ID generated by the server. It is going to look like a few letters with three numbers after it (me131).
    • Password- This is the password you created, again, if you can't remember you'll need to log into the account manager or give us a call here at 877-846-7929 and we'll be glad to help you out
If you can't remember what your ID is, log into the dogbark account manager where you can manage your email information. You'll find what you need in there.
    • Finally, you'll see a checkbox and it will say next to it, "Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)." Don't check that box as we don't support SPA
