FTP is how you will upload your files to our server for your web site. If you have done this before then you understand that this isn't a difficult task. If you have yet to FTP files you may be a little intimidated, but rest assured, you will be an expert in no time.
• FTP To Your Webspace
There are a number of FTP programs that allow you to upload (and download) files for your web site on your server. The following log in information is sent to you from DogBark.com after your domain account has been activated or you can go to dogbark.com/help to get it.
Information you need will looks like this:
HOST / SERVER: ftp.yourdomainname.com
USER NAME / ID: ydomain
PASSWORD: ydn123
DIRECTORY: htdocs

• Get a design program with built-in FTP
You can download web site design programs with built in FTP. Go to Good Stuff: Software to see a couple we like.
• Get an FTP Program
If you are using a web authoring program that does not have FTP capabilities then we recommend a stand alone FTP program. Go To Good Stuff: Software to download one.
• FTP Basics
Here are a few things worth noting:
- pages (HTML and HTM) should be uploaded as "text"
- photos and graphics (JPGs and GIFs) should be uploaded as "raw data"
- We highly recommend only using lower case when naming your files.
- Never use spaces when naming your files (underscores like _ are ok)
