  4. Next, fill in the name of your site, this is for your ID only.
  5. Then, you'll need to pick a local folder to save your files on. This is so that you have a back up on your computer. Choose a folder by pressing the "Browse" button.
  6. Hit the "Next" button again.

  7. The next screen will ask you about version control. For this demo, I am not going to use this, so I'll just hit "next." But if you want to use that please feel free to do so.
  8. At this point, you will click on the "Specify Server Now" radio button and enter the following information:
    • Nickname- your nickname for this particular site
    • Protocol- FTP should be checked
    • Server- ftp.your_domain_name.com
    • Directory- /htdocs/
Note: If you do not enter the /htdocs/ here your files will not be able to be seen by any browser. The HTDOCS folder on the server holds all of the files that you going to be "visible" by web browsers.
    • Username- your dogbark FTP username goes here.
    • Password- your dogbark FTP password goes here.
If you do not have these please go to the dogbark account manager to find this information
  9. Now push the "Finish" button on the bottom right hand side.

    golive4
  10. At this point you will get a window that is divided in half. If you look at the picture below, you'll see the left side is your computer, and the right side is what is "live" on the server.
  11. Finally, you will need go click on the "sync" button on the top toolbar of Go-Live as shown below. Then you can save your files to your computer on the left and drag them across onto the server on the right.

"Go Live" has some helpful information if you follow along with their tutorials. As always, when you first get a program, we hightly recommend using these tutorials to get a good background of how the program works before you try building your site from scratch.
